Restoration at Flux
A deeply restful practice that unwinds tension, calms the nervous system, and restores your energy.
What is restorative yoga?
Restorative yoga uses bolsters, blankets, blocks, and other props to fully support your body in gentle postures held for 5–10 minutes. The room is warmed to a comfortable 75°F and dimly lit. There is no muscular effort – you simply settle in and allow gravity to do the work.
This practice activates the parasympathetic nervous system, moving you out of "fight or flight" and into deep rest. It's a powerful antidote to stress, burnout, and chronic fatigue. Many students find it improves sleep and overall well-being.
- Reduces cortisol and lowers blood pressure
- Relieves chronic tension and pain
- Supports injury recovery and illness healing
- Creates space for emotional release and mental clarity

Restoration FAQ
Do I need any yoga experience?
Not at all. Restoration is accessible to everybody. There are no complex poses – only supported rest. Perfect for beginners.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, warm layers. The body cools down during long holds, so socks and a long‑sleeve top are recommended. We provide blankets.
Is restoration the same as a nap?
Not quite. You remain awake and aware, but the deep rest can feel more refreshing than sleep. Many students report improved sleep quality after regular practice.
Can I come if I'm injured or pregnant?
Yes, with clearance from your healthcare provider. We'll work around any limitations and ensure you're fully comfortable. Please let the teacher know before class.
